Paul was born in Brooklyn New York on November 4th 1965 to Paul and Rosemarie Sciacca.
Paul's father was a commercial photographer and his mother was a painter, so Paul was always surrounded
by art. At an early age he learned how to shoot pictures with an old manual canon 35mm camera and in his
teens taught himself sculpture. After college and a career in sales in New York City Paul longedto use his
artistic abilities to earn a living and soon turned to special make-up effects, pushing his limits and forcing
him to grow artistically. He soon landed a job working on a film in N.Y. where he made some great friends
and contacts. Shortly after this film Paul decided to move to Hollywood to full time work in make-up effects.
After nearly 10 years in the film industry Paul grew tired of the uncertainty and accepted a position with Disney.
It would be nearly 4 years after this that Paul set out on his own.
After leaving Disney Paul went into toy sculpture which he found to be a stimulating challenge, sculpture
for film was very rarely studied up close where toy sculpture had to be perfect for manufacturing. He soon
developed relationships with all the major film studios to sculpt film promotional toys and grewhis art company
"Creations Ink" to nearly 25 artists. The Creations Ink team enjoyed a run in the top 5 toy prototype companies
up until about the year 2001 when the industry started to shift over seas. With this shift and 9/11 happening
about the same time Paul decided after much regret to close his doors and move on.During the course of the
next year, Paul started to develop web sites for clients and started"Affordable Marketing Resources" which
involved all of his skills: Sculpture, Photography, Web Design, Graphic Design and Video Production and put
them under one roof.
It was at this time that Paul started to shoot pictures for his own enjoyment and received lots of offers
to sell his work from friends and clients. So he decided to start "Paul Michael Photography" the site you are
currently visiting. Paul's interest in art photography and his love for the ocean are very apparent in most of his
work. His artistic vision has often been described as Dark and Moody with a calming effect. His recent series
is called the "Tweens" because of the times this images were captured. As he describes it "The magical time in
between day and night.
Paul invites you to share in his new vision the "Tweens collection" and take some of the magic home.
